Weekly Horoscope: May 19, 2014

Venus enters randy Aries and conjuncts Uranus this week, setting off a love connection that can burst its sockets.  Go for the gusto but be prepared for a possible gust o’wind.

ARIES   (MARCH 21 - APRIL 20)
Not only do you know what to say, you are given the rare opportunity to say it to a bevy of influential, powerfully connected  folks. Press the flesh and impress them all in that unique Aries way. But once you have them in the palm of your hand, what do you do next? Plan it out. The idea is to mold them into a useable form. And what shape might that be? Hmmm.

TAURUS   (APRIL 21 - MAY 21)
There are several things going on this week and most are happening behind the scenes. You may find that you are especially intuitive at discerning the motivations of others. And you may also feel a strong urge to make a positive impact on the world around you. Why not combine both talents, Taurus? Build a team of do-gooders and do some good. Oh goody.

GEMINI   (MAY 22 - JUNE 21)
Even though Geminis often enjoy being social gadflys,  this week the crowd looks to you for structure and direction. I know you can guide the course. You have some great ideas and some even better connections who can help out. Gather your best buddies and implement some ground shaking, groundbreaking events. Did the earth move for you?

CANCER   (JUNE 22 - JULY 23)
Cancers should keep their eye on the big corporate prize this week. Plan your big move now and actually move it in mid-May. All your plots and hard work may just pay off. (You have been working hard, haven’t you?) Of course, when all else fails, use your considerable resources to charm the pinstriped pants off of the big kahunas. Then hang them out to dry.

LEO   (JULY 24 - AUGUST 23)
There is plenty of time to fit in at least one or two great escapes before the summer gets fully underway. Surprises and a possible love connection could stir up the winds. Choose a destination that will have them talking for weeks. Think big and boisterous. (A perfect combination.) Whoo hoo! Leos are ripe for adventure. Get going before you begin to stink.

VIRGO   (AUGUST 24 - SEPTEMBER 23)
Check out a few new avenues to intimacy while the fates provide the grease for your wheel. Virgos not only feel sexy, they look pretty sexy too. Work both your inner and outer beauty to your advantage. Goodness knows, the perfect combination comes so infrequently in life. Belly up to the bar and sip at the cup of the debauched. Gee I’ll have what your drinking.

LIBRA   (SEPTEMBER 24 - OCTOBER 23)
Independence is all well and good but there are times when connecting to a certain special someone is exactly what you need. Concentrate on intensely personal one on one relationships this week. Libras may not want to admit it, but they can often feel incomplete and alienated. Turn on your electricity and plug into others. Surprise! One may recharge you.

SCORPIO   (OCTOBER 24 - NOVEMBER 22)
There is no better time to hone your assorted skills. The week can provide you the impetus to buff and shine in whatever area of life you choose. Will you apply yourself to work projects, home based tasks, health regimes or open up your vista and explore new avenues to personal success? Who cares! The most important thing, Scorpio, is to move, shake and bake.

SAGITTARIUS   (NOVEMBER 23 - DECEMBER 22)
Don’t be too hard on yourself if you find that you simply cannot focus on the nitty gritty details this week. It is not the time to focus in between the lines, Sagittarius. Relax and let your imagination soar, seek a light romance or get your hands dirty with something (or someone) creative. Rubadub and make a big artistic move this week. Then do it again.

CAPRICORN   (DECEMBER 23 - JANUARY 20)
Is there something missing from your home life or is it just that things have settled down into one long boring (and comfortable) routine? Yawn.  Capricorns should not be content with the same safe old stuff. What turns you on? What gets your inner fire started? Whatever is grilling your goose, turn up the heat this week. Go for spicy and well done.

AQUARIUS   (JANUARY 21 - FEBRUARY 19)
Words may fail you on occasion but not this particular week. Aquarians can say what they mean and mean what they say. And they can do it in a way that charms just about any snake. (A rare talent!) Negotiate a good deal for yourself. You not only manage to get more than you bargained for, you can also use it to your advantage. So take full advantage!

PISCES   (FEBRUARY 20 - MARCH 20)
Money flows more easily and you feel in charge of your destiny.  But don’t squander your largess on any old tired thing. It is a great time to harness your finances and build up reserves. Pisces  seem to have not only the insight but also the investment moxie now. Calculated risks may surprisingly payoff. Then hello early retirement! Or is it hello dissipation...?

Finally a week in which being talkative can actually be useful! Usually, the fact that I talk a lot isn't that helpful.

I guess it's time to impress!

Well, I don't have any large sums of money to invest that could bring me early retirement but, perhaps the fact that Venus in Aries is conjuncting my own natal position of Venus (in my 5th House) might bode well for amusements, children and my love life! (One can only hope...) ;)

This might have been right for those that are Scorpios but it was certainly wrong for myself.

I think this might have missed the mark for me this week...I'm not sure what ground shaking, groundbreaking events I should be working on.

Ceres and Our Inner Emotional Life

Ceres connections in synastry can reveal how one person accepts (or doesn’t) their partner’s nurturing. “Nurturing” is defined as caring for someone, and fostering their growth. Ceres (or Demeter) is named after the Goddess of the crops. She had a daughter (Persephone) and they were close. So close, in fact, that Ceres never wanted to let her go. Then Pluto (or Hades) kidnapped Persephone and dragged her off to the Underworld. Ceres’ grief was intense. In retaliation, she denied mankind their food by making the crops wither and die; she was hurting, so everyone else would as well. A deal was eventually struck with Pluto, and Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground, with her mother. This was when Ceres allowed the crops to grow. When Persephone spent the rest of the year below ground, the crops were dormant. So Ceres’ cycle of growth and loss reflects the cycle of life. In your chart, her sickle-shaped glyph describes how you handle that cycle.Aspects to Cer

When You Should Get Your Birth Chart Done

Have you ever gotten your 'chart done'? In the field of astrology, a 'chart' is a representation that demonstrates the position of the planets, Sun and moon at a particular moment in time. The position of each planet, its movement and relationship with other celestial bodies can give an astrologer insight as to the influences in play at that particular time. There are 5 times in life when you should consider having a chart drawn up. When You Discover Astrology Once you discover the field of astrology, it’s a worthwhile investment to get a natal chart done. Everyone’s chart is unique because a full chart deals with not just your birth date, but the specific minute and location of your birth. Some people try to draw up their own natal charts using a website or book—and while this might give you an accurate plotting of the chart, only someone trained and experienced in astrology can truly interpret it. There is more to interpreting a chart than just reading a l

Essential Oils That are Harmful to Dogs.

On a Saturday night, a dog owner arrived home late and noticed that their dog was acting strange and did not recognize them. The owner initially thought that the dog was experiencing a night terror, but the odd behavior continued into Sunday. Upon realizing that a new diffuser had been running in the home, the owner turned it off, and the dog's condition improved on Sunday afternoon. However, the next day, the dog sitter reported that the animal was hiding under the bed and acting abnormally. The owner left work early to check on the dog and discovered that it was still disoriented and confused. The owner decided to take the dog to the emergency vet, where it was discovered that the tea tree oil used in the diffuser was toxic for dogs. Fortunately, the dog's liver was not damaged, but the animal required fluids to remove the toxins from its system. The vet and poison control specialists advised that they have seen an increase in similar cases as the use of essential oils grows
