Venus in Aries May 2014

2014 Astro-Note:
Venus is in Aries a short blast from May 2nd to the 28th, 2014.  Revive passion with an old flame, or breathe life into your steady thing.  This could be the start of something wonderful.
Venus Aries Motif
  • Open to the moment, with the wisdom of the Fool.
  • The Goddess Brigid, and fires of smithcraft.  When things heat up, new shapes are possible.
  • Starting a whole new creative endeavor.
  • Teasing each other out of stagnation.
  • Action-adventures, overcoming with courage.
Foolish Lovers
Aries is a fool that rushes in.  So Venus in this brave sign inspires even shy lovers to action.  Is there someone you've been worshiping from afar?  When Venus is in Aries, the love mood favors bold action, and taking chances.
What's the worst thing that can happen?  I love that song "Everybody Plays the Fool" that 1972 song by the Main Ingredient (and later recorded by Aaron Neville).  We all play the Fool sometimes -- I know I have!  When Venus is in Aries, there's more of a chance of a speedy recovery.  Aries has big flashes of intense emotion, and then is over it.
The love atmosphere then is about being open to the moment, and moving on quickly to the next thing.  It's about sensing where the heat is, the passion.  And who inspires you.
Brigid, Fiery Arrow
Venus finds its way into feminine expression, and larger-than-life vessels like goddesses.  The Goddess Brigid of the indigenous tradition of England, Scotland and Ireland has many names, one of them translates to "fiery arrow."  She's the patroness of healing, poetry andsmithcraft.
In Brigid, Survival of a Goddess, Winter Cymres writes, "The role of the smith in any tribe was seen as a sacred trust and was associated with magickal powers since it involved mastering the primal element of Fire, moulding the metal (from Earth) through skill, knowledge and strength. Concepts of smithcraft are connected to stories concerning the creation of the world, utilizing all of the Elements to create and fuse a new shape."
Creative Heat
The ardor of fire sign Aries finds its way in friendships and artistic goings-on, too.  As things heat up, there is risk -- what "shape" will it take next?
What's unique about Venus Aries is the love of the edge.  Sometimes that means teasing people who have gotten stuck in their ways.  It can be pleasurable to stir things up, and cause a scene.
The aesthetic is in bold colors and direct, uncensored.  It's an ideal time to start a brand new creative endeavor.
Lover or Fighter?
How do we snap out of a routine that's become boring?  With new challenges or something to look forward to?  Sometimes there's a divine discontent that creeps in, and we get in a punchy mood.
The Venus Aries experience inspires a search for signs of life in our universe.  Picking fights is the shadow side of Aries -- it comes out when there's nothing to target or be vigorously preoccupied with.  The force is there, to go beyond the comfort zone and into the actively creative zone.
And this is a key point with Venus in Aries -- the joy of being active.  It's a super time for parties or socials that include games or activities.  There's a restlessness to shake off confusion, and act on desires in striking ways.
Venus Aries instills a kind of self-centered relationship style.  The upside is being true to the self, and dropping people-pleasing habits that confuses things anyway.  The potential pitfall or indulgence when Venus is here is in short-term gratification, and devil-may-care attitude.
Aries is a cardinal sign, for pushing into new ground.
Venus in Aries Goings-On
A whirlwind affair; staying up all night; fighting and making up; competing as lovers or friends; giving life to a creative idea; being an inspired leader; brutal honesty and clearing the air.

I really like how Venus is portrayed in countries like England and Ireland. It's not the soft kind of woman the Greeks and the Romans had, but an almost warrior-like figure.

I know all about Venus in Aries. I was born with Venus in Aries in my chart in the 5th House. It's many times "over the top" as far as love affairs go and one thing it isn't is "predictable"!

Ceres and Our Inner Emotional Life

Ceres connections in synastry can reveal how one person accepts (or doesn’t) their partner’s nurturing. “Nurturing” is defined as caring for someone, and fostering their growth. Ceres (or Demeter) is named after the Goddess of the crops. She had a daughter (Persephone) and they were close. So close, in fact, that Ceres never wanted to let her go. Then Pluto (or Hades) kidnapped Persephone and dragged her off to the Underworld. Ceres’ grief was intense. In retaliation, she denied mankind their food by making the crops wither and die; she was hurting, so everyone else would as well. A deal was eventually struck with Pluto, and Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground, with her mother. This was when Ceres allowed the crops to grow. When Persephone spent the rest of the year below ground, the crops were dormant. So Ceres’ cycle of growth and loss reflects the cycle of life. In your chart, her sickle-shaped glyph describes how you handle that cycle.Aspects to Cer

When You Should Get Your Birth Chart Done

Have you ever gotten your 'chart done'? In the field of astrology, a 'chart' is a representation that demonstrates the position of the planets, Sun and moon at a particular moment in time. The position of each planet, its movement and relationship with other celestial bodies can give an astrologer insight as to the influences in play at that particular time. There are 5 times in life when you should consider having a chart drawn up. When You Discover Astrology Once you discover the field of astrology, it’s a worthwhile investment to get a natal chart done. Everyone’s chart is unique because a full chart deals with not just your birth date, but the specific minute and location of your birth. Some people try to draw up their own natal charts using a website or book—and while this might give you an accurate plotting of the chart, only someone trained and experienced in astrology can truly interpret it. There is more to interpreting a chart than just reading a l

Essential Oils That are Harmful to Dogs.

On a Saturday night, a dog owner arrived home late and noticed that their dog was acting strange and did not recognize them. The owner initially thought that the dog was experiencing a night terror, but the odd behavior continued into Sunday. Upon realizing that a new diffuser had been running in the home, the owner turned it off, and the dog's condition improved on Sunday afternoon. However, the next day, the dog sitter reported that the animal was hiding under the bed and acting abnormally. The owner left work early to check on the dog and discovered that it was still disoriented and confused. The owner decided to take the dog to the emergency vet, where it was discovered that the tea tree oil used in the diffuser was toxic for dogs. Fortunately, the dog's liver was not damaged, but the animal required fluids to remove the toxins from its system. The vet and poison control specialists advised that they have seen an increase in similar cases as the use of essential oils grows
