Sun Signs and Friendship - What Kind of Friend Are You?

Think you've got what it takes to be a great friend? With Facebook and texting as the communication norms these days, slowing down long enough to review your friendship skills can pay off toward better relationships. Are you the life of the party? A great listener when your friends are down? Learn the strengths of your zodiac sign -- or your best friend's -- in the art of friendship.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)
The warrior sign provides the spark plug that gets great friendships off the ground. Always ready with ideas for things to do (and boasting the brave spirit to initiate them), an Aries friend will never be boring. When you need to try something new or get out of your funky mood, call an Aries friend. Watch out for their temper, though.
Aries' best friendship asset: courage.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
When you want it simple and sweet, call a Taurus friend for a good meal or a reassuring visit to a favorite place in nature. A healing back or foot rub might be a Taurus friend's specialty as well. Contact them after a crisis or when you just want to relax for a few hours. To bring out this sign's best, don't talk too much -- just be together.
Taurus' best friendship asset: stability.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
If you're a social sort of person, you'll love the Gemini friend for his or her lightning-fast mind and wide variety of interests. Though sometimes most comfortable in familiar surroundings, Gemini will go just about anywhere with a friend, especially if the environment is mentally or visually stimulating. When life gets too serious or heavy, call a Gemini friend for a refreshing new perspective.
Gemini's best friendship asset: light-hearted curiosity.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
The Cancer friend will give you the shirt off their back. Unfortunately, they may expect you to wash, press and return it with a home-cooked meal in return. Loving, caring and great at creating cozy dinner parties, the Cancer friend is loyal, but sometimes expects dependency from friends in return. The best Cancer friend will let their friends grow up.
Cancer's best friendship asset: deep feeling.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Leo doesn't really get friendship. To Leo, friendship is a kind of foreign country with odd residents who keep far too much distance. Leo tends to romanticize everything (think Joey Tribbiani from Friends) and wants to be the center of attention. However, Leo can be a generous and creative friend when the Lion learns that other residents of the jungle have something more to offer than being Leo's audience.
Leo's best friendship asset: warmth.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
The Virgo friend expresses caring feelings by doing tasks for others. So if you don't know how your Virgo friend feels, and you find your bookshelves organized, your garage cleaned or your car washed and detailed, you'll know your Virgo friend cares. On the down side, Virgo easily spots flaws and may view pointing out that your jacket and shirt don't match as a public service.
Virgo's best friendship asset: truth.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Though Libra loves romance, the sign of the Scales is also about partnership and the balance required to maintain good friendships. The Libra friend loves harmony and will go out of his or her way to avoid ruffling a friend's feathers without good reason. The Libra friend also loves entertaining and making any environment more beautiful.
Libra's best friendship asset: cooperation.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Like romantic Leo the Lion, intense Scorpio doesn't totally understand friendship. Because Scorpio may have trouble trusting others, sometimes the Scorpion will let jealousy, fear of betrayal or other negative feelings get the best of a good friendship. However, once the Scorpion can learn to relax and let down his or her guard, he or she may be the most loyal friend possible.
Scorpio's best friendship asset: passionate commitment.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Get ready for adventure, because the Sagittarius friend will take you to new places. Sagittarians usually love the outdoors and learning, exotic cultures and travel, so you'll need to have high energy and an open mind to keep up with the Sagittarian friend. A clown when you're down, but not always the best listener, Sagittarius can nevertheless make you feel you never had problems to begin with.
Sagittarius' best friendship asset: optimism.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Never known for joviality, Capricorn nevertheless makes a reliable and realistic friend to count on when fair-weather friends have gone. Though you might need to lift the Goat out of blue moods from time to time, in return you'll find an ambitious friend who knows how to make the rules of society work to his or her advantage.
Capricorn's best friendship asset: steering friends toward concrete goals.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
As the sign that rules friendship itself, Aquarius has the home court advantage. The Water Bearer knows how to view people not only as members of families, couples or work teams, but as unique individuals capable of forming friendships with others and together forming the fabric of humanity. Aquarians can easily detach from emotional situations and do what's best for a friend, but need to be careful not to detach too far.
Aquarius' best friendship asset: allowing friends the freedom to be themselves.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
The Pisces friend loves to share emotions and feels a little cheated when friendships remain too superficial. Walking by a lake or body of water, watching movies or creating art make great activities to share with a Pisces friend. The Fish's worst tendency is toward escaping or flaking out on friends. However, when present to a friend, nobody's more compassionate.
Pisces' best friendship asset: being a good listener.

Scorpio's is very accurate for me. I don't trust easily and it is the downfall of a few friendships. But, when I do trust someone, it's the best friendship.

Ceres and Our Inner Emotional Life

Ceres connections in synastry can reveal how one person accepts (or doesn’t) their partner’s nurturing. “Nurturing” is defined as caring for someone, and fostering their growth. Ceres (or Demeter) is named after the Goddess of the crops. She had a daughter (Persephone) and they were close. So close, in fact, that Ceres never wanted to let her go. Then Pluto (or Hades) kidnapped Persephone and dragged her off to the Underworld. Ceres’ grief was intense. In retaliation, she denied mankind their food by making the crops wither and die; she was hurting, so everyone else would as well. A deal was eventually struck with Pluto, and Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground, with her mother. This was when Ceres allowed the crops to grow. When Persephone spent the rest of the year below ground, the crops were dormant. So Ceres’ cycle of growth and loss reflects the cycle of life. In your chart, her sickle-shaped glyph describes how you handle that cycle.Aspects to Cer

When You Should Get Your Birth Chart Done

The position of each planet, its movement and relationship with other celestial bodies can give an astrologer insight as to the influences in play at that particular time. There are 5 times in life when you should consider having a chart drawn up. When You Discover Astrology Once you discover the field of astrology, it’s a worthwhile investment to get a natal chart done. Essential Oils That are Harmful to Dogs.

On a Saturday night, a dog owner arrived home late and noticed that their dog was acting strange and did not recognize them. The owner initially thought that the dog was experiencing a night terror, but the odd behavior continued into Sunday. Upon realizing that a new diffuser had been running in the home, the owner turned it off, and the dog's condition improved on Sunday afternoon. However, the next day, the dog sitter reported that the animal was hiding under the bed and acting abnormally. The owner left work early to check on the dog and discovered that it was still disoriented and confused. The owner decided to take the dog to the emergency vet, where it was discovered that the tea tree oil used in the diffuser was toxic for dogs. Fortunately, the dog's liver was not damaged, but the animal required fluids to remove the toxins from its system. The vet and poison control specialists advised that they have seen an increase in similar cases as the use of essential oils grows
