Planets and Eclipses: 2014 Forecast

Note for 2014:
The eclipses of April 2014 fall at 25 Libra (April 15th) and 9 Taurus (April 28th).
The eclipses of October 2014 fall at 15 Aries (Oct 8th) and 0 Scorpio (Oct 23rd).
Look on your birth chart for any direct hits to planets or significant points.
Eclipses and Trailings
By looking at where the  Eclipse falls in the Houses, you get a sneak preview of what's to come (or in progress).  And it's also instructive to look at planetary contacts to the eclipse.
If there's a conjunction to a natal planet (within 5 degrees), this is the eclipse ruler.
Some astrologers say the last planet aspected by the eclipse, is your main symbolic messenger. An eclipse though, isn't always dramatic or shocking. It's often a subtle, inward, and sometimes profound unfoldment, that happens over a period of time (six months is the rule).
Eclipses that aspect the Sun
Sun engagement with eclipses are significant milestones, being close to your solar return (Oh, and Happy Birthday!). You might already been in soul searching mode, with the urgency of another year, looking at what you have to show for it. Are ego needs and desires crowding out a sense of higher purpose? Are identity issues needing to be stabilized, in order to shine out in your unique way?
Your personal will, confidence, and identity are areas of potential crisis or revelation. It's possible, with a solar return, to see where your more externally-geared ego has been dominant. A speedy leap of growth is possible, as you ride a surge of your solar energies, like a wave rider, to what has life, shine, and makes you animated. Events happen that play out over six months, and rock your self of self.
Eclipses that aspect the Moon
Hits of your natal Moon to the eclipse bring emotionally churning events or atmospheres. A crisis or happening can relate to mother or mothering, the past, compulsions, emotional triggers, stability. You're overwhelmed by a great need, that's been denied for too long. There could be disruptions on the home front -- something unsettling -- that takes time to restore equilibrium.
A move could be in the works, or a symbolic break from "home" and its influence. There can be epiphanies about the emotional matrices that make up your being. A healing crisis could involve emotions and the soul, home base or feeling comfortable in your own skin. Any breakthroughs take months to integrate, and can also be recurring themes of meaning in your life.
Eclipses that aspect Mercury
A Mercury-touched by an eclipse can provoke an altered state of mind, a perceptual breakthrough or mind storm. In the extreme, an eclipse could take you to states, beyond your 'right mind.' There could be a mental crisis, but one that eventually leads to more tools and awareness for mental health. There can be amazing dreams, ideas, streams of consciousness and insights.
Events could draw you into more engagement in the neighborhood. You could hit a groove, and be prolific. Or, realize a flaw in your thinking, and be stunned by this. This could be an inspired time for communication. Or, you might realize that it's wise to wait until the fragments of the mind are re-ordered. In his trickster guise, Mercury could scramble things, in a way that takes a while to unravel. What's perceived anew could take time to fully integrate.
Eclipses that aspect Venus
A contact with Venus to eclipses charges up your love of life, and desire to share it. A new romance that starts now could have a fated feel -- that it came at just the right moment in time. An inner barrier to love could be where your breakthrough happens. Self-love and natural joie de vivre charges the atmosphere to attract and create more of your heart's desire.
Other big bangs can happen with money, unexpected assistance, new friendships, a heightened sense of well-being, a realization of your calling, sudden inspiration for something creative or artful, an urge to beautify yourself and your home space.
Eclipses that aspect Mars
If Mars is triggered by an eclipse, there can be outbursts, both constructive and destructive. The raw energy of Mars rushes out, and if there are underlying conflicts, this could be a time of getting into it. You might have to stand up for yourself, if under attack, or find yourself initiating a confrontation yourself.
You could have a surge of physical vitality, with a Mars hit. It could be diverted into arguing, or an ongoing frustration reaches a breaking point. If a situation comes to a head, it could be explosive. And yet, that might be the cosmos way of provoking change, that wouldn't come otherwise. Any eruptions of raw emotion or energy, and actions from them, could take months to sort out. Looking back, you could see it gave you the momentum to make a change. This is an eclipse contact that gives you your groove back, and creates momentum.
Eclipses that aspect Jupiter
An eclipse meet and greet with your natal Jupiter could be a lucky day. It could somehow boost your faith, with some signal that you're on your right path. There might be unexpected help, or an offer out of the blue. If you've had blinders on, events happen that widen your world -- and sense of possibility. There could be travel in the mix. You meet someone from another culture, or be drawn swiftly toward what's been foreign, exotic, far-flung.
An eclipse hit to Jupiter could expose you to something higher, that takes awhile to see as a real possibility. It could be inspiration, a way someone is living, an ideal. The flash experienced could lead to sudden changes, or be a light that guides you on the next stretch of the journey.
Eclipses that aspect Saturn
If the eclipse engages your Saturn, be open to lessons the great teacher brings. If you're wisely using your gifts, this could involve reaching a milestone. You could be recognized in some way, or be ready to take a step that only comes from being seasoned.
Also likely, you experience hitting walls, if life has become too narrow, confined and is not the right structure for who you're becoming. This could be painful, if you are deeply bound up with what you've set up. There could be a shift with responsibilities -- more burdens or less. If you intuit an end, and are facing a sober reality about what is, that's the first start of change. The subtle or extreme shifts in life structure can take months to play out.
Eclipses that aspect Uranus
The cosmos has surely has a big LOL when we anticipate what this kind of aspect will bring. Uranus is the planet of waking up to more expansive realities, a stroke of genius, leaps and breaking free.
The restlessness of this engagement could be felt for a few days or weeks prior. It could find you seeking kindred spirits to bounce wild ideas off. What's odd or eccentric about you has a chance to shine, and this could throw others for a loop. This eclipse is a shout out to your inner wild child, free spirit and original genius. See what's there to experience, and jot down or record any ideas, as they're sure to be inspired.
Eclipses that aspect Neptune
With Neptune aspected by an eclipse, the veils drop. What's been occulted before, is out in the open. There can be disillusionment, or relief. You might realize something about yourself or others that puts you in strange psychic territory.
There can be a sense of betrayal by another, or seeing where you've been fooling yourself. Like being someone you're not, to get approval or have status. The realizations can bring relief, but not before taking you through the states of death, including coming out of denial. Take heart that you'll emerge with a clearer understanding, once the fog clears.
Eclipses that aspect Pluto
It's time to take a walk on the dark side. Here the crisis has to do with psychic realities that get the better of us. It might be a wound that's made us crippled with fear, or an inexplicable compulsion to obsess. Something could happen that forces a confrontation. Or you gain the strength, and know it's time, to meet that shadow.
Often it involves deep merging with others, and the will to be free from that entanglement and control. The journey to soul sovereignty is one of facing those psychic demons. And an eclipse event could be a trigger for that path, one that could last as long as six months or more.

Eclipses that aspect Uranus sound the best in my opinion. We should all allow our inner child to express himself/herself every now and then (if not daily). Creativity and sparks of genius are much needed and appreciated regardless of one's job/career.

Well... The April eclipse was within ONE degree of my natal Saturn and THREE degrees of my natal Neptune (my Sun-sign's ruling planet)... Hmmm... I guess I should feel lucky that Pluto wasn't one of them. :(

Ceres and Our Inner Emotional Life

Ceres connections in synastry can reveal how one person accepts (or doesn’t) their partner’s nurturing. “Nurturing” is defined as caring for someone, and fostering their growth. Ceres (or Demeter) is named after the Goddess of the crops. She had a daughter (Persephone) and they were close. So close, in fact, that Ceres never wanted to let her go. Then Pluto (or Hades) kidnapped Persephone and dragged her off to the Underworld. Ceres’ grief was intense. In retaliation, she denied mankind their food by making the crops wither and die; she was hurting, so everyone else would as well. A deal was eventually struck with Pluto, and Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground, with her mother. This was when Ceres allowed the crops to grow. When Persephone spent the rest of the year below ground, the crops were dormant. So Ceres’ cycle of growth and loss reflects the cycle of life. In your chart, her sickle-shaped glyph describes how you handle that cycle.Aspects to Cer

When You Should Get Your Birth Chart Done

Have you ever gotten your 'chart done'? In the field of astrology, a 'chart' is a representation that demonstrates the position of the planets, Sun and moon at a particular moment in time. The position of each planet, its movement and relationship with other celestial bodies can give an astrologer insight as to the influences in play at that particular time. There are 5 times in life when you should consider having a chart drawn up. When You Discover Astrology Once you discover the field of astrology, it’s a worthwhile investment to get a natal chart done. Everyone’s chart is unique because a full chart deals with not just your birth date, but the specific minute and location of your birth. Some people try to draw up their own natal charts using a website or book—and while this might give you an accurate plotting of the chart, only someone trained and experienced in astrology can truly interpret it. There is more to interpreting a chart than just reading a l

Essential Oils That are Harmful to Dogs.

On a Saturday night, a dog owner arrived home late and noticed that their dog was acting strange and did not recognize them. The owner initially thought that the dog was experiencing a night terror, but the odd behavior continued into Sunday. Upon realizing that a new diffuser had been running in the home, the owner turned it off, and the dog's condition improved on Sunday afternoon. However, the next day, the dog sitter reported that the animal was hiding under the bed and acting abnormally. The owner left work early to check on the dog and discovered that it was still disoriented and confused. The owner decided to take the dog to the emergency vet, where it was discovered that the tea tree oil used in the diffuser was toxic for dogs. Fortunately, the dog's liver was not damaged, but the animal required fluids to remove the toxins from its system. The vet and poison control specialists advised that they have seen an increase in similar cases as the use of essential oils grows
