September 2013 Horoscope

ARIES (Mar. 21- Apr. 20) To turn last month's lack of excitement around, in September things should start to change positively. An opportunity for a promotion arises and positive news are also to be expected. Romance can be tricky!

TAURUS (Apr. 21- May 21)  Success is the keyword for this month, grand achievements being within your reach. Your social life may suffer, but it is worth it in the end. One of your friendships will be put to test and you'll have to prove your patience throughout the entire period, at least until the last week of September.

GEMINI (May 22-June 21) This month your mood and overall wellbeing improve. Work or school are going well, but don't forget to take a break and allow yourself to stay away from any pressures. Bonds within your group of friends are getting stronger, so a trip with your friends may be exactly what you need.

CANCER (June 22-July 22) You have been faced with several hardships so far this year and now it is time for you to sit back and contemplate all you have achieved. Spend time with your family, recharge your batteries, and get ready for a busy autumn!

LEO (July 23-Aug 22) Reflection is not your favorite activity, you prefer taking action. However, you will have to spend some time with yourself, thinking about one of your relationships. Towards the end of the month you may feel exhausted, it would be a good idea to spend more time socializing.

VIRGO (Aug. 23 -Sept. 23) Last month's successes still lingers and invigorates you. September is a risky month, as you may be inclined to make unwise investments or to trust someone who doesn't have your best interests at heart. This month focus on everyday tasks and avoid taking any major decisions.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 -Oct. 23) Venus is back in your house this month, although now the emphasis is put on your love life rather than on your friendships. Single Libras may meet someone by the middle of the month.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22) Scorpios will act with caution this month, as they usually do given that being cautious is one of their distinctive traits. They will come across all sorts of business opportunities in September and they'll feel comfortable sharing their innermost feelings with someone special.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 -Dec. 21) Thanks to your natural optimism, you are always ready to change and to accept new ideas. This month, you have the chance to be a leader, while you to benefiting from a new concept. You'll observe an emotional growth in sensitivity and understanding during this period.

CAPRICORN (Dec 22.- Jan. 20) If you keep putting your work before your social life you risk creating unnecessary tension in one of your relationships. A reliable friend has some wise advice on your uncertainty regarding a close-held ambition. Paying attention to what they have to say could be beneficial for you. Try and open up a little more and everything will be alright.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 -Feb. 19) September will be a month with short periods of resting. New challenges will come your way, but if you face them with an open-mind and steer them to your advantage, they could become opportunities for greater recognition at work or school. Towards the end of the month your love life is particularly satisfying.

PISCES (Feb. 20-Mar. 20) As the oldest in the zodiac sign, you are characterized by a respectful, mindful way of conducting yourself. However, this month you may let yourself go once you achieve your goals. You may be surprised by your own potential.

All horoscopes I've read lately say that I'll find love towards the end of September. I'm really curious whether it will happen or not.

It sounds apt for the Virgo. September is my 'kick back' and think about things time and so much DO, saving energy for the wicked winter. :)

I love it when my Horoscope tells me to relax. Although I would have not thought about taking a break in September but I might as well now.

My horoscope is usually a hit and miss type of thing. It's always interesting to see what it says and to see if it's right or not.

Hmmm. I don't think mine is quite right. I haven't come across any business opportunities so unless it comes along later in the month, it is not accurate for me. :/

Ceres and Our Inner Emotional Life

Ceres connections in synastry can reveal how one person accepts (or doesn’t) their partner’s nurturing. “Nurturing” is defined as caring for someone, and fostering their growth. Ceres (or Demeter) is named after the Goddess of the crops. She had a daughter (Persephone) and they were close. So close, in fact, that Ceres never wanted to let her go. Then Pluto (or Hades) kidnapped Persephone and dragged her off to the Underworld. Ceres’ grief was intense. In retaliation, she denied mankind their food by making the crops wither and die; she was hurting, so everyone else would as well. A deal was eventually struck with Pluto, and Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground, with her mother. This was when Ceres allowed the crops to grow. When Persephone spent the rest of the year below ground, the crops were dormant. So Ceres’ cycle of growth and loss reflects the cycle of life. In your chart, her sickle-shaped glyph describes how you handle that cycle.Aspects to Cer...

The Meaning of Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology

Unique to Vedic astrology, the Nakshatras, or lunar constellations, are directly connected to the Moon and her myriad of expressions. The Moon changes signs (houses) roughly every 2.3 days, taking 28 days to move through the twelve signs of the zodiac. This gives two weeks for a waxing (bright half) Moon and two weeks for a waning (dark half) Moon.  The Moon is connected to our intuition, intelligence and the nature of the mind and emotions. These “Moon parts” within us are ever-changing, fickle, and correlate to the endless movement and change of the Moon. Whereas the movement of the Sun is linked to the 12 signs of the zodiac, the movement of the Moon is connected to the 27 nakshatras. The Moon is the lord of all the nakshatras, where the Sun is the lord of all the rasis (signs).  In the Vedic system of astrology, there are 27 nakshatras (though some texts refer to 28 for specific spiritual purposes) which easily divides the 360 degrees of entire zodiac into roughly 13.2...

Mercury Retrograde in 2014

Mercury goes retrograde February 6 2014 and the traditional advice is  “Don’t travel, Don’t sign contracts. Don’t marry. Don’t touch electrics!”  But the whole Mercury retrograde cycle actually lasts eight weeks and happens three times, sometimes even four times in a year! That’s a long time to hide under the duvet and a real waste of a truly magical time. Mercury generally zips between two worlds, or rather, the two hemispheres of our brain. So during the retrograde period it is like Mercury has gone down into the Underworld. In the realm closer to spirit we become more right-brain orientated. It is dark, so other senses are heightened. We will feel extra sensitive here, psychic even. Everything will seem hyper-real… you will notice things you had overlooked before. This will prompt you to re-evaluate, renovate, re-invent, re-form, and reinvent. It’s true you might have to redo things, because Mercury will hit the same degree three times, but what this transit won’t l...
