Weekly Horoscope: April 28, 2014

ARIES   (MARCH 21 - APRIL 20) Any home based project or festivity will be much bigger, bolder and unwieldy than you expect. That is partially because you have such big plans, Aries. My advice is to tailor your expectations, time, ability and money. Once you have everything in a manageable size, go for the gusto and party until the cows come home. Or at least until your guest go home. TAURUS   (APRIL 21 - MAY 21) You have big ideas, Taurus. Give some of them room to grow and roam. This week you may get unexpected help from an unexpected source that upends your landscape and creates new paths for your big move. Weigh all advice and be choosy about which one you follow. Use a trusted source. Get out of your comfort zone but be sure there are guard rails..   GEMINI   (MAY 22 - JUNE 21) Friends stress your budget and why not? You are ready to enjoy life and to splurge on every little thing. (No names please!) But all these little things ...

April Eclipse in Taurus - Mark of Renewal

The Solar eclipse occurs April 28-29 (depending on your location) at 8 Taurus 51, a New Moon that only sextiles Neptune; everything else is outside even a generous orb, with Mercury just days past Superior Conjunction (if this were moving toward the eclipse point I would consider counting it) and Mars, though moving retrograde, outside the orb for a quincunx. That lays it all on Neptune and the Sabian for this eclipse, ‘A Fully Decorated Christmas Tree’. A Solar eclipse is when the Moon arrives at a point just right between the Earth and the Sun, so that the Moon appears to be not just conjunct the Sun, but to be aligned directly between Earth and Sun; our view of the Solar orb is blocked (occulted), at least from particular points on Earth relative to the path of the eclipse. It’s an instance, in symbolic terms, of Lunar sensibilities temporarily blocking the light of the Sun (objective consciousness) from reaching Earth. That suggests that Lunar issues for a time overwhelm Sol...

Libra Total Eclipse on April 15th

Tipping the Scales? The wait is over!  The intense grand cross in cardinal signs in April's forecast is already in edge-of-your-seats play.  Here comes a spike of intensity, with the Total Lunar Eclipse (April 15th) is in cardinal sign Libra. At this big event, the luminaries Sun and Moon are at 25 degrees Libra, and Mars is at 16 Libra, charging the air with big passion and wakefulness. Great powers of creativity and destruction are doing their thing.  How are you directing it? Cardinal signs (Aries - Cancer - Libra - Capricorn) are especially in the crucible.  Sometimes inner and outer whammies happen at the eclipse that have a reverberating or life-altering effect.  Be curious about your expectations themselves.  The Aries-Libra line is especially flashing for some Full Moon illumination.  Aries is inspired action and Libra is action along with the equally charged expectation of a response.  In this experiment called life, ...

How to Win the Aries Man

He's ruled by the red planet (Aries man is so absorbed in the moment that he may not notice you at first. He's got his eyes on the next prize. This makes it easier to observe him from afar, and develop a huge crush. When his gaze finally does beam on you, don't wilt and play shy or too smitten. He doesn't want a done deal. That's an instant turn-off to such a forceful and confident man. He's looking for tension in romance, the thrill of the hunt, with the goodies kept at a tantalizing distance until the right moment. In old-school lingo, it's called playing hard to get. In the bedroom, It takes a whole lotta woman to keep this man satisfied. He'll look at you with lusty desire, and make you feel like the hottest thing around. When you're new, you're the "It Girl" of the moment. He's impulsive in love, and comes on strong. He finds you ravishing, but don't let him eat you up in one sitting. Saying "No" sometime...

April 2014 and Eclipses

April will be a key month in 2014, for a great deal of change will head our way. This is due to the arrival of two important eclipses, first an emotional full-moon lunar eclipse in Libra on April 15, and then a new-moon solar eclipse in Taurus on April 29. If your birthday falls on, or close to, these dates, your life will change dramatically.  But first, some background: Eclipses always fall on a new moon or full moon, and they always come in pairs, two weeks apart. In April, these are monster moons — full of difficult aspects. So, while either of these new and full moons would have been important in their own right, the fact that these are eclipses — the nodal points of any year, where all events seem to revolve around the strong messages of the eclipses — means they have the strength of three new moons and full moons rolled into one. The first eclipse, on April 15, will be a full moon, ending or culminating a situation or relationship; and the second eclipse is ...

Aries New Moon in the Houses

The New Moon is Aries is like walking through a purifying fire, to burn off sleepy habits and get you animated.  In the direct glare of Aries, the essence of a situation -- or what needs to happen next -- becomes clear.  Avoid flame wars and power struggles that tie up your energies.  Aries is a cardinal sign, making this a lunation to act (wisely). What's been germinating through the winter months is now ready for launch. This is the very first sign of the Zodiac. What's seeded now has the force of Spring behind it. Look for ways to direct any intensity toward what you'd most like to see happen. Aries New Moon in 2014 is on Sunday, March 30th at 2:45 pm (Eastern-US).  It's a super-charged one -- here's a fresh take on the Aries New Moon (2014).   The Sun and Moon are aligned at 9º Aries 59′ (go ahead and round up to 10) -- where does this fall in your birth chart? Look for the Aries glyph around the outside of your wheel. Take note that Aries...

Spring's Arrival and the Cardinal Grand Cross

The roiling, tumultuous energy of this spring seems to be in full spate already, but it promises to become stronger and stronger into April. The question is: how do we shoot the rapids in our own little coracles without tumbling into the flood? There is no getting away from the fact that the  Cardinal Grand Cross  forming at the end of April is potentially  dangerous . We are already well in that zone. We know what the Uranus-Pluto square feels like, but this time around both Jupiter (exaggeration) and Mars (action) will be in exact aspect too. Here is the chart for the moment the Sun moved into Aries today (now yesterday), the very first breath of the zodiac year. You can see that Pluto is already in position at 13° and Uranus and Jupiter are within aspect too. By April 23, Mars Rx will have clicked into place and those heavy planets will be at at 13°. The United States' Sun is at 13° Cancer. Russia's Mars is at 13° Capricorn. China's Mercury is ...

Renewal and the Grand Cardinal Cross

As promised, here’s my dissection of April’s Grand Cardinal Cross. Check out  this post  for introductions, dates and degrees. What do we know about Cardinal signs? They are initiators; they mark the cusp of an event. Each Cardinal sign heralds a change of season (Libra/Fall Equinox, Aries/Spring Equinox, Cancer/Summer Solstice, Capricorn/Winter Solstice).  Yes, this Cross will be about change (obviously),  but I would expect to see some firsts here as well. We’re talking  brand new territory . Uranus in Aries  is the wildcard, the unexpected drive for liberation. Squaring  Jupiter (expansion) in Cancer , we have an unexpected (possibly overwhelming) emotionally-driven push (no logic).  Jupiter in Cancer  squares  Mars  (action) Rx in  Libra,  and Uranus  will oppose  Mars . Mars’ reversed motion suggests frustrations or inappropriate reactions to the Uranus/Jupiter influe...
